Bella Freud opened the doors to her very first shop in a former art gallery on Chiltern Street. Architect and designer Maria Speake of Retrouvius having previously worked on Bella’s home, used reclaimed stone floors, bespoke brass rails and custom-made rich velvet Richelieu carpets to emulate a home from home atmosphere. Shadowy grey walls set off the colour palette of green and red, giving depth and luxury to the space. Over two floors, the shop houses Bella’s seasonal collections of knitwear and tailoring for both women and men alongside fragrances and scented candles.
"I wanted to create an intimate shopping experience with an apartment like feeling, a bit like stepping into a friend's place for a cup of tea and leaving with her favourite jumper." Bella Freud
