Communications Assistant


Location: Shoreditch, London, UK
Reporting to: Communications Manager
Employment Type: 4 days per week, 9.30am - 5.30pm, Monday-Thursday

The Communications Assistant is a position that works closely with the Communications Manager to fulfil the Communications department’s needs and ensure smooth running of the Press Office and Marketing department. The ideal candidate should have strong writing, research and organisational skills, be  willing to go above and beyond the duty of call in order to complete projects and should have a can-do attitude. Should be comfortable working in a team environment but be confident to complete tasks and projects alone.

 

Responsibilities, roles and tasks:

 

Assisting and working closely with the Communications Manager:

- Organising samples in the showroom, including uploading new collections onto Fashion GPS and archiving collections at the end of each season.
- General press office management, ensuring all samples are in good condition and the showroom is presentable
- Full sample trafficking (organising sample returns and send outs) using both local and international courier services
- Updating press, influencer and contact database
- Identifying and connecting with brand-appropriate influencers for gifting and dressing opportunities.
- Oversee press and VIP gifting strategies
- Compile monthly or project-based press reports across PR and digital marketing
- Compile press releases and pitches for new product launches and manage news coverage
- Maintain and cultivate exceptional press and industry contacts and relationships on behalf of Bella Freud to accurately pitch Bella Freud news stories and products
- Work and support on events or projects as needed
- Assist with the smooth running of photoshoots
- Assist with producing marketing collateral including printed communications
- Support with social media scheduling and monitoring the brand’s social performance


Key Attributes:

- The candidate should have strong communication skills (both written & oral), research and organisational skills
- Be able to work under pressure to meet deadlines
- Highly motivated and enthusiastic
- Accomplishes tasks accurately, thoroughly and with a keen eye for detail both with quantitative and qualitative data
- Must be efficient in email, Excel and PowerPoint. Knowledge of Fashion GPS and the Adobe suite is preferable but not essential
